主題：Does a Help Giver Seek the Help from Others? The Dual Psychological Mechanisms and the Role of Leader Respect.
Differing from prior studies which examine the dynamics between the help giver and help seeker from the interpersonal perspective, this research focus on how and when employees shift their roles from a help giver to a help seeker by investigating the relationship between employees’ help-giving and help-seeking behavior from the intrapersonal perspective. Based on the self-regulation theory, this study demonstrated two contradictory psychological processes (i.e., reputation pathway vs. credits pathway) that people engage in to determine their choice on help-seeking after help-giving behavior. Furthermore, this study identifies the moderating effect of leader respect to solve the opposite effects of employees’ help-giving behavior on their subsequent dependent help-seeking behavior indicated by the two contradictory underlying mechanisms.
